What is Transfer Advising?
Transfer Advising is focused on advising Prospective and Admitted Transfer Students.
This is not major advising, and all current students should refer to their appropriate major & minor advisors.
When can the following student groups talk to Transfer Advising?
Prospective Students
- Interested in the U of A and wish to have their credit pre-evaluated
- Assistance in finding the appropriate U of A resource
- Unsure of major or who to reach out to
- Learning about the U of A academic requirements
Admitted Transfer Students
- Yet to have their Orientation date and have questions regarding how their coursework transfers to U of A
- Questions regarding life here at U of A and the services offered to support them on their academic journeys
Current Students
- Current students who have already attended their U of A orientation should not see transfer advising but should connect with their major or minor advisor accordingly
- Students who have been accepted but have not attended orientation are still considered "admitted students" and can meet with a transfer advisor

Connecting with a Transfer Advisor
Drop-In Meetings
Please note that official drop-in appointments are listed in the calendar below, but are typically offered:
- Mondays & Tuesdays via Zoom
- Wednesdays & Thursdays in-person at the Transfer Student Center (SUMC 402)
- Phone drop-ins are available every day
- Calls may go to voicemail as students are served on a first-come, first-served basis
Wait times may vary based on demand; if you would like a guaranteed meeting time, please make an appointment. Hours are updated on Friday for the next week.
